The client was in the process of renovating their living room, with a strong desire to create a sophisticated, multi-functional space that would serve as both a comfortable living area and an immersive home theater. While they had already installed a TV within the wall for everyday viewing, they wanted a larger, more cinematic screen for movie nights without compromising the room's clean, modern aesthetic.
The primary goal was to integrate a high-quality home theater system seamlessly into the living room, with all components hidden from view when not in use. This required careful planning and precise installation to ensure that the room maintained its sleek design while delivering an exceptional audio-visual experience.
PRODUCTS
- 2 x Monitor Audio IV140 Invisible Speakers were installed in the TV wall. These speakers are completely hidden, blending into the wall to provide high-quality sound without disrupting the room's aesthetics.
- 2 x Monitor Audio C265-FX Ceiling Speakers were installed in the drop ceiling around the perimeter. These speakers provide immersive surround sound, enhancing the movie-watching experience.
- 1 x Monitor Audio WSS430 In-Wall Subwoofer was also integrated into the wall, delivering powerful bass without occupying any floor space.
- Pure Theatre CR50 Projector Lift was installed to hide the EPSON EH-TW7300 Projector in the ceiling. This lift mechanism allows the projector to remain hidden when not in use, preserving the room's clean lines.
- Pure Theatre CR240 Projector Screen was selected to provide a 104-inch viewable screen. The screen is housed in the drop ceiling, allowing it to be retracted out of sight when not in use.
CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
One of the primary challenges was integrating the extensive home theater system into the living room without compromising the room's aesthetics. The solution involved using a drop ceiling around the perimeter to house the projector lift, projector screen, and ceiling speakers. This design not only concealed the equipment but also added an architectural feature to the room, enhancing its overall look. The use of invisible speakers in the TV wall was another key decision that allowed the client to maintain a minimalist design while ensuring high-quality audio performance.
