Concealed Home Cinema, Cheshire

When new developments began in close proximity to their home, Melissa and her family decided it was time to move. From the moment Melissa and her family walked through the doors of this handsome detached residence they fell in love. Drawn to the property for its impressive square footage and enveloping gardens they had many ideas of how to renovate the property to create an impressive family home.

One of the more complex rooms regarding layout was the formal lounge. Due to its size and location the family decided to split the room in two, creating a grown-up seating area around the lovely stone open fire on one side and a relaxing movie area on the other.

The family wanted a space to enjoy movies but didn’t want to have a dedicated cinema room that was dark and unused for long periods. The resulting space features a large slouchy sofa, providing ample seating for the family, in front of a 95” projector screen which is cleverly hidden away in the ceiling. Being able to hide away the technology was important to ensure the space kept its clean aesthetic when not being used for this purpose.

In order to make the best choices for the technology in this room they visited the Pure Theatre Demo facility. Specialising in concealed home cinema, the team at Pure Theatre were able to design and specify the right equipment for the room. The resulting space utilises a UK manufactured projector screen and projector lift to completely conceal everything in the ceiling when not in use.

One thing that the family hadn’t considered prior to the home cinema demo was sound. Opting for a surround sound system really transformed the room into an entertainment hub. The system includes two Monitor Audio In-Wall Speakers, four Monitor Audio In-Ceiling Speakers and a REL Subwoofer for that extra depth. This setup means that the room sounds phenomenal whether the family are settling down for a movie night or watching sports with friends.
