BenQ W4100i 4K UHD 4LED 3200lm Home Cinema Projector

Description

BenQ W4100i: Our Expert View

The BenQ W4100i is a versatile 4K projector that sits particularly well between traditional home cinema and everyday living-room entertainment. With 3,200 lumens of brightness, a 4LED light source and useful installation flexibility, it is capable of producing a large, detailed image without requiring the room to be completely dark.

As with all the BenQ projector models the stand out feature is its colour accuracy, with super-wide 100% DCI-P3 & 100% Rec 709 colour space it blows our team away with how it delivers precise colours to perfectly preserve what the directors envisioned.

We think it is particularly interesting for customers looking to create a large-screen cinema experience in a living room or multi-purpose media room, as well as those who want a projector capable of handling both films and gaming. The 4100i also has a relatively small footprint and therefore fits in the CR35W projector lift so it's perfect for people looking for a smaller projector than the larger BenQ W5800 model.

However, brightness isn't the only factor we consider when choosing a projector. Screen size, viewing distance, ambient light and the characteristics of the room all influence which projector will produce the best result. For a fully light-controlled dedicated cinema, there may be other projectors we'd consider depending on your priorities.

Why trust our opinion?

We don't just sell projectors. We've been designing home cinema systems for more than 20 years. We have real experience with how these projectors perform.

Who is the W4100i best suited to?

Not all projectors work in all rooms. Choosing the right projector for your space is important. The BenQ W4100i is a reasonably priced projector which would work well for:

Use in Living rooms and media rooms
The high brightness makes it a strong option where some ambient light is unavoidable. The 4100 is also a good choice when the room needs to work for films, sport, gaming and everyday entertainment.

Those wanting a smaller projector lift
The BenQ W4100i fits in our CR35W projector lift which is smaller than the CR50 model requiring just 590mm x 420mm cutout.

Gaming
Its 4K/120Hz capability makes it more versatile than a projector designed purely around movie viewing. There are however specific gaming projectors so if this is the main use then there may be better options.
